WebImages is built to be a small, personal utility rather than a data-driven product. This page explains, in plain terms, what happens to a photo and its related information once you use the site.

What WebImages stores

When you upload a photo, WebImages stores:

• The photo file itself, in object storage.
• Basic metadata about it — file name, file size, file type, and upload time.
• A one-way hashed version of the delete key generated for that upload, used only to verify delete requests.

WebImages does not require a name, email address, or any account information to upload a photo, and none is collected.

What stays in your browser

The "Recent photos" list on the homepage is stored using your browser's local storage, on your device only. It is not sent to or readable by WebImages's servers. Clearing your browser data or using a different browser or device will clear that list, though the photo itself remains reachable at its link until deleted.

Share links and delete keys

Anyone with a photo's link can view it. Links use a short random identifier rather than a sequential one, so they are not guessable from one another, but a link is not a password — treat it as something you control by choosing who you share it with. A separate delete key is generated for each upload and is required to remove that photo; keep it if you want to be able to delete the photo later.

How long photos are kept

Photos remain stored until you delete them using their delete key, or until removal is necessary to keep the personal storage budget within its cap. WebImages does not run automatic bulk deletions for any other reason.

Infrastructure and third parties

WebImages runs on Cloudflare's infrastructure, using Cloudflare Pages for hosting, Cloudflare R2 for object storage, and Cloudflare's key-value storage for metadata and usage counters. Cloudflare processes this data on WebImages's behalf as its infrastructure provider and may log standard network-level information (such as request IPs) as part of operating that infrastructure. WebImages does not use separate advertising or analytics services, and does not sell or share uploaded photos or metadata with third parties.

Storage limits

WebImages enforces a fixed storage cap, a per-file size limit, and monthly caps on uploads and image views. These limits exist to keep usage inside a free storage allowance and are checked automatically; when one is reached, the site returns a "Limit exceeded" message instead of continuing. Running counters of storage used and operations performed are kept for this purpose; they are not linked to any person.

Children's privacy

WebImages is a general-purpose personal utility and is not directed at children. It does not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new "last updated" date. Continued use of WebImages after a change means you accept the revised policy.
